Purpose:
Publication of original research reports and clinical observations, case reports related to parasitology, statistical compilations and critical reviews.
The composition and role of the editorial board:
The editorial board is composed of full and associate professors working in medical and veterinary parasitology. There are external reviewers (non-members) for evaluation of special manuscripts from Turkey or abroad.

The Acta Parasitologica Turcica is a journal that only publishes manuscripts in the field of parasitology in Turkey. Individual manuscripts concerned with parasitology may be published in other journals covering general microbiology or different fields of medicine.
The journal's target audience(s):
Parasitologists working in medical and veterinary parasitology field. Acta Parasitologica Turcica is being distributed to 420 members of Turkish Society of Parasitology, all libraries in Medical, Veterinary and Science Faculties (total 65 schools) for students, health centers belonging to Ministry of Health, veterinary institutions belonging to Ministry of Agriculture, libraries of selected hospitals and honorary members (total 15) in abroad.
The method by which manuscripts are selected for publication/peer review process:
The peer-review process is as follows:
- Reception of the manuscripts (MS),
- Control of the MS by the editors in order to determine if the instructions for authors have been followed.
- Choosing of the reviewer(s) for critical investigation according to the subject of the MS,
- Distribution to the reviewer(s) together with an .evaluation form. for scientific criticism,
- Reception of the reviewer(s).s criticisms of the MS. The reviewers usually send a report pointing out the scientific and/or writing errors of the MS in addition to the evaluation form.
- Decision to accept / reject / request correction of the MS,
- Decision as to the number of MS accepted by the editor to be printed in a single issue and the issue of the journal in which they are to be printed.

The importance of this journal to health professionals throughout the world, etc:
More than 100 papers are published in the journal each year. Since tropical diseases such as leishmaniasis, malaria, leprosy, and vector-borne diseases as well as intestinal parasitic diseases are common in Turkey, this journal is a source of information for people working in parasitology in all over the world particularly in relation to international collaborative studies. The papers published in Acta Parasitologica Turcica have been providing information concerning scientific and methodological developments in parasitology and the epidemiological status of parasitic diseases in different parts of Turkey to people interested in parasitology and students since 1976.
